Katy and Ryan Lend a Hand

Katy and Ryan enjoy helping me send out our ministry newsletter by putting stamps on the envelopes. It is a fun game for them to see names of people that they recognize. It has been an opportunity for me to help them understand how God provides for our needs by calling others to partner with us in reaching students for Christ.

What is Summer Project? (Katy’s Brochure Design)

I really appreciate the creativity of our kids. One of the fun things for me this summer was to share with Katy and Ryan the work I was doing with the Summer Project Web site redesign. Several times through the summer, I showed them clips from the main promotional video which served as an inspiration for my Web site design.

Recently Katy designed her own Summer Project Brochure. Below, you see the cover to her brochure on the left, and the actual cover from the brochure used in the promotional video. You can see how closely Katy matched the details.

But what I like even more is the inside of the brochure. She has a really simple message that reflects the whole reason my team worked on the Summer Project Promotional Package. It is to answer the question, “What is Summer Project?” I love how her brochure points to the Web site that I spent the summer redesigning.

Katy Shares Her Testimony at Church

On Christmas Eve, Katy gave her testimony at our church. She was asked to share what Christmas means to her.

Anne helped Katy to put her thoughts together. Katy spent several days practicing. Katy did an incredible job and I am amazed at how composed she was.

Introducing Lydia Grace Bridgforth

We want to introduce you to the newest member of our family, Lydia Grace.

Lydia was born on August 24. She weighed 7 lbs. and 1 oz. at birth and was 18 inches long. We brought her home from the hospital on Saturday. Both Lydia and Anne are doing well.

We have been traveling in Arkansas and Oklahoma for the past couple of weeks. It has been fun to see many of our ministry partners and be back in both Little Rock and Tulsa.

Writing God’s Word in Her Heart

Tonight was our AWANA awards nights. Awana is a club where kids memorize God’s Word, play games and learn lessons through story time. This was Katy’s first year in the club.

She was one of two girls to earn three awards tonight. She finished her book (26 unique verses), went back and repeated them through review and then learned 17 more verses through a workbook. I am very proud of what she has done. She has really hidden God’s Word in her heart.

I am amazed at how quickly she can memorize something and she also thinks about it. Lately she has been asking some really deep questions about things she has read in her Bible or things she has heard Anne and I talking about. I have nicknamed Katy “my little theologian.”

Katy’s Baptism

We were very excited on November 20 when Katy was baptized at our church. She did a great job of sharing her testimony. She is so confident in talking about her faith and talking in front of people.
